Currencies in the Verus protocol are simple tokens, fraction reserve (basket currency or liquidity pools) tokens, NFTs or coins.

Increased Security

All currencies benefit from consensus security. Consensus security refers to the validation across the whole network by every participant. This is how bitcoin is secured & validated. Unlike smart contract platforms where only the native/home token receives consensus security.

DeFi with Fair Outcomes

The consensus security includes the MEV solution for providing fair pricing for all participants by resolving prices at the same time (concurrently), as opposed to contract platform DeFi which solves pricing one transaction at a time (serially).

Crowdfunding Ready

Currencies can be used for crowdfunding, with minimum thresholds, discounts, carve-outs, preallocations & refunds when funding targets are not met.
